We are especially interested in taking youth who have an inclination, a desire, a curiosity, or a need to witness humanity around the world. We do not impose a minimum age requirement because we believe that parents know best when their child is ready for this type of adventure. We can tell you that the youngest child we have traveled with thus far, independent of their parents, was 10 years old.
We welcome children, teens, siblings, public school students, homeschoolers, un-schoolers, private school students, first time travelers, experienced travelers, return travelers, and everyone in between! Pretty much anything can be arranged but you should keep in mind that barring some very lucky circumstances, your child will probably be flying solo to meet us in country. Most airlines have policies for minors traveling alone and, if you feel it is necessary, will provide a flight attendant to walk your child through security, seat them on the plane, and ensure their safe connection with us once they arrive.
It is also important to note that we accept young travelers independent of their backgrounds and (most) prior infractions. Travel can be a powerful learning experience and can be the first step in a new perspective. It provides a change of environment and an exposure to “the real world”- elements that are sometimes needed to open a young person’s eyes and heart. Our experience and expertise give us confidence in our ability to handle most young travelers. Of course, safety is one of our top priorities so each situation will be discussed and decided upon individually. If you would like to discuss your child’s unique situation or if you have questions about how we can accommodate your family’s individual needs, please contact us!
Any young person can travel. If we can help your child explore the world in a safe and meaningful way, we will!
